Day Trip to Nanaimo!

The day was a blast! I was quite impressed with how Connor behaved. He was VERY excited and happy for most of the day with only one hour nap.

Brendan, Connor and I caught a ride with Brendan's parents on the way to Nanaimo on the ferry. Connor sported a huge smile with lots of laughter in the car ride/wait to get on the ferry.


Connor had a BLAST on the top of the ferry. I probably was just as excited as he was. He just LOVES running in the wind. Brendan and his parents stayed behind in the shelter shivering while Connor and I had lots of fun!


Upon arrival at Jason and Eliana's place Connor was so excited to see them. Connor was spoiled with a gift from them for his belated birthday with shorts and a nice top! Thank you both! We had a BBQ in the backyard with lots of place for Connor to roam around. Jason and Brendan chatted away while Nani and I did the same.


Shortly after, we were greeted with a couple of friends - Kelly with her beautiful daughter Chevelle and Lily. Connor got to have a playmate for a short time. Connor was unsure of Chevelle - maybe because she was too beautiful? Haha. They both accidently had a boo boo when Chevelle tried to hug her and Connor backed away tripping backwards with Chevelle laying on top of him. Yikes! Both had boo boo's but were eventually okay. Lily treated Connor with Summer toys for his belated birthday. Thank you Lily!




Here's Jason & Eliana who made the BBQ happen with a GREAT food/visit! Thank you both! Eliana is over 6 months pregnant. Isn't she beautiful?? In the last picture of Jason and Connor - Connor had just woken up from his nap. For some reason he loves to cuddle with men in general such as Grandpa, Daddy and Uncle Jason. He will only cuddle with me if he is alone with me - once in awhile! :P


Unfortunately, we had to start heading back home to catch the 7pm ferry which means we would be arriving home after 10pm with bus rides! I had expected Connor to be tired and grumpy with so little nap and using up lots of energy but I was WRONG! Connor was once again excited to be on the ferry with LOTS and LOTS of energy left. We grabbed a bite to eat and then decided to go outside on the middle deck and Connor just ran, ran and ran with us chasing him. I was able to capture a beautiful sunset!


We decided to take him inside to the play area and he had a blast with the slide and steering the kids boat. By the time the ferry arrived to West Vancouver he didn't want to leave the play area. Aww. Although, Connor did so well on the bus ride back home. He was sitting in his Daddy's lap smiling and laughing making other people smile.


On our 2nd bus to home we got to talk with the bus driver for about 30 minutes who is the father of the daughter that was born on the same day as Connor. They were roommates for two days in the hospital. It was pretty cool to catch up and share experiences on how the kids were doing.

We finally arrived home at about 10:15pm and instantely put Connor to sleep and he had no complaints at all. He is sleeping lots today to make up for so little sleep from yesterday! It was a great day!
